Zakk´s Recap:
Prolog:
"Okay, it is race day. Imola. You like that track, your race setup is quite fast but also tire saving."
Qualifying:
After that little self motivating session, the qualifying began. And of course it was time for, what i call, WannaBeZakk´s signature move: Forget about the special qualifying setup you´ve done and just drive with race setup and low fuel.
All came like it had to: a 01:50:4someting. 6th Place out of 8. Brilliant. ( for comparison: SimplisticBeing qualified with a 01:47:xxx, maybe we should pack his car with some additional weight.
).
Qualifying was over and my mood changed from "you can do this" to "Feeling like Sauron on a sunny day."
Especially because this crazy Bug has disabled my complete HUD. But what has happened?
After Zakky was done with his "fast laps", he wanted to watch, how the other drivers manage their qualifying. So i opened the Monitor and switched through the fast laps of SimplisticBeing, Rook.Be and so on. On the "Monitor HUD" there is this little button, looking like the eye of Mordor ( you get the picture, right?
), which disables the "Monitor HUD."
As it turned out, not only the "Monitor HUD" was disabled, but also the complete HUD. Great, no information about fuel standings, tire wear, lap number and Minimap. And OF COURSE i didn´t know my button assignment for changing the HUD.
Long story short, it was race time.....
The Race:
I had a quite good start and got managed to gain 1 place before the first corner. As usual, fair play all the way. Great stuff.
Sawer and ItalianBum had a few problems with the grip, i think. So Rook.Be, Riiot.Man and myself overtook both of them.
After the first 2 Laps, the fun part began. Huge amount of hard, fair fights for position 2 and 3. Thanks to ItalianBum,Riiot Man and Rook.Be for bringing me that close to a heartattack. ^^
Due to the lag of a HUD, i think that those fights were lasting about 5 to 7 Rounds. Correct me if i´m wrong, guys.
UKPitBull-75 disconnected in Round 4 or 5. What happened, buddy ?
The Rest of the race was, as for myself, concentrate on driving clean, save the tires and bring home that 3rd Place.
My race setup, with the correct amount of fuel, worked pretty well. Tire wear was okay. Only the last lap was a little bit slippery. ^^
So that was my "little" recap of my race weekend in Imola. Hope you like it.
As always, it was a clean, hard but fair race. Kudos to all of you. And congrats again to SimplisticBeing for winning another race. ( I really think, we should pack his car with a lots of additional weight).
